Susanna Joy Smith

I host and produce Genetic Frontiers, a podcast about the promise, power, and perils of genetic information and am working on a creative nonfiction book project.

My writing has been published by the American Medical Association’s Journal of Ethics, where I worked as an editor, The Hastings Center Bioethics Forum, the Vital blog, EMS WorldReproductive Health Matters as well as other publications. For two decades, I worked as a content strategist, writer, and researcher collaborating with non-profits and entrepreneurs focused on bettering public health, women’s health, and healthcare technology. I hold a Master in Public Health from Columbia University and a BS in biochemistry.
